A patient, who was not suited for ultrasound-guided biopsy, was biopsied in an interventional magnetic resonance unit at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Real-time magnetic resonance imaging provided verification of placement before tissue samples were taken. This technique successfully sampled tissue from the prostate and led to a diagnosis of cancer. UROLOGY 56: 663-664, 2000. (C) 2000, Elsevier Science Inc.
