State attorneys general were surveyed regarding legal and regulatory issues related to delivery of behavioral health services in their stares by electronic means. The data are discussed in the context of rapidly evolving technology and practice innovations that involve delivery of professional services by teleconference, the Internet, and other electronic media; Licensing, regulatory, and professional liability barriers are discussed, along with suggestions for practitioners who are considering engaging in behavioral telehealth services.
