The preparation and characterization of electrochemical co-polymerization of aniline (An) with o-phenylenediamine (o-PD) are reported as the first case of imprinting atropine sulfate. A bulk acoustic wave (BAW) sensor based on this material was fabricated using electrochemical method. The sensor exhibited good selectivity and sensitivity to the template. A linear relationship between the frequency shift (-Deltaf) and logC was found from calibration curve in the range of 8.0 x 10-(6)-4.0 x 10(-3) M. The determination limit was 2.0 x 10(-6) M. The sensor was successfully applied for the determination of atropine sulfate in media of serum and urine. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
