The level structure of Ra-225, produced in alpha decay of Th-229, was studied by gamma -ray spectroscopy. The sources were continuously purified from daughters with ion-exchange chromatographic separation methods. Energies and intensities of 174 gamma rays were accurately measured with HPGe detectors. About 100 gamma rays were reported for the first time, especially in the 300-700 keV energy range. A Ra-225 level scheme was proposed, accounting for about 200 transitions among 45 excited states. The level structure was interpreted in the framework of reflection-asymmetric structures with parity doublet bands. The model was shown to be in satisfactory agreement with experimental data.
