The role of sentinel lymphadenectomy in the management of malignancies other than melanoma and breast cancer is being increasingly explored. Improved staging of solid tumors holds great promise for refining treatment recommendations and gaining insight into the biologic behavior of these malignancies. This article summarizes the growing experiences with sentinel lymph-adenectomy in solid tumors other than cutaneous melanoma and breast cancer.
