A novel antifungal antibiotic, haliangicin, was isolated from a culture broth of marine myxobacterium, Haliangium leuteum. The planar structure of haliangicin was elucidated by spectroscopic analyses and was shown to be a new polyunsaturated compound containing beta -methoxyacrylate moiety.
