The effect of 24-epibrassinolide and 28-homobrassinolide on the inhibition of germination and seedling growth of rice (Oryza sativa) induced by salinity stress was studied. Brassinosteroids were found to reverse the inhibitory effect on germination and seedling growth. The activation of seedling growth by brassinosteroids under salinity stress was associated with enhanced levels of nucleic acids and soluble proteins.
