Two triterpenes 21R,23R-epoxy-21 alpha -ethoxy-24S,25-dihydroxyapotirucall-7-en-3-one and 24R-acetoxy-3 beta ,25-dihydroxycycloartane were isolated from the leaves of Dysoxylum malabaricum together with eight known compounds lupeone, lupeol, sitosterol, dipterocarpol, cycloart-25-ene-3 beta ,24-diol, 24R,25-dihydroxycycloartan-3-one, 3 beta ,24R,25-trihydroxycycloartane and ergosta-5,24(24(1))-diene-3 beta ,4 beta ,20S-triol. The complete H-1 and C-13 NMR spectral assignment of the new apotirucallene triterpenoid has been achieved by H-1-H-1 COSY, HMQC and HMBC experiments. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
