Mixing enhancement in a Bunsen burner with a coil insert, using air as a fluid is experimentally investigated. The coil has a ratio of pitch to the tube inside diameter (p/D) as 1.0 and the ratio of coil diameter to the tube inside diameter (d/D) is 0.17. The results show that a coil insert with certain configurations can be used as a good mixing device. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
