The author relates the origins of the Limits model and the subsequent Club of Pome global models. He considers the models to be a major scientific advance much needed in the context of post-war growth mania. He gives Forrester's work within System Dynamics its rightful place in this breakthrough, and concludes by noting the deep commitment of participants in global modeling, likening it to a metaphysical experience.
