A practical method for determining the mechanical behaviour of a highly elastic material over a large strain range has been developed. This method fits laboratory test data to Mooney-Rivlin curves to obtain a material property representation. This representation is then used to analyse the test case (using the finite element method) and so validate the results. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
