Work on irradiation of polymer blends has shown that radiation processing has the potential of playing a big role commercially, just as it has played in the case of individual polymers, e.g., wire and cable insulation. Irradiation of polymer blends can be used to crosslink or degrade the desired component polymer, or to fixate the blend morphology. This paper presents a brief overview of irradiation of polymer blends containing a polyolefin as one of the components, where potentially useful results have been reported.
