The fragmentation of dicationic potential curves of CO has been studied by means of Auger-electron-fragment-ion coincidence spectrometry. Paying attention to the influence of the instrumentation on the observables, the calibrated ion data allow quantitative comparison with Auger electron emission. In this way a unified view is obtained for both Auger-electron and fragment-ion emission processes.
