The complexes [{(X)PdN(Cy) = C(H)C6H2C(H) = N(Cy)Pd(X)}(2){(mu Ph2PC5H4FeC5H4PPh2}(2)}(X = Cl (3), X = Br (4)) have been prepared by reaction of [(X)PdN(Cy) = C(H)C6H2C(H) = N(Cy)Pd(X)](n) (X = Cl (1), X = Br (2)) with 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf), and they were characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N) and by H-1 and P-31{H-1} NMR spectroscopy in CDCl3. The compounds are arranged as hexanuclear supramolecular cages containing two different metals, palladium and iron. The crystal structure of complex 4 was determined by X-ray diffraction studies.
