Phytochemical investigation of the leaves and stems of Glochidion wrightii Benth. led to the isolation of one new triterpenoid ester, 3 beta-tetradecanoyloxy-1 beta-hydroxylup-20(29)-ene (1), and twenty-nine known compounds (2-30), including (3 beta,16 beta)-lup-20(30)-ene-3,16,29-triol (8) reported as a natural product for the first time. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic analysis and by comparison of their spectral data with those reported in the literature. The chemotaxonomic analysis is concordant with the newest molecular phylogenetic and morphological classifications that the genus Glochidion is deeply embedded within the large Phyllanthus.
