Zinc II hexacyanoferrate III, Zn-1.5[Fe(CN)(6)]. 6H(2)O, was prepared by coprecipitation method. The precipitated powder possessed a face-centred cubic structure with a lattice parameter of 10.32 Angstrom. Phase transformation in this cyanide compound was encountered after heat treatment at a temperature at 75 degreesC or above, from a face-centred cubic to a monoclinic structure. The finding of these different structures could help one to have a better understanding of the magnetic properties of the compound after being subjected to different stages of thermal treatment.
