Two new constituents of Isodon excisus and their evaluation in an apoptosis inhibition assay

Investigation of the whole plant of Isodon excisus resulted in the isolation of two new apoptosis inhibitors (1 and 2). Compounds 1 and 2 inhibited etoposide-induced apoptosis in U937 cells with IC50 values of 10.2 and 52.4 mug/mL, respectively. The structures of 1 and 2 were determined by spectral data interpretation.
