Although the search for newer and more effective oral therapies is expanding, intracavernosal and intraurethral treatments continue to keep pace and will likely remain in the clinicians' erectile dysfunction armamentarium in the years to come. If oral therapies are ineffective or have undesirable side effects, the intraurethral or intracavernosal routes are the next approach that should be prescribed.
