This paper describes load tests on four different types of frame scaffolding systems assembled to form a framework approximately 5 m tall. Commercially available software was used to predict the ultimate load carrying capacity of each system using both an eigenbuckling and a geometrically nonlinear analysis. Comparisons are made between observed and predicted ultimate loads. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
