Dendroclathra caeruleofusca gen.nov. et sp.nov. is described and illustrated from submerged wood collected in Cuba. The most similar genera are Sympodioclathra, Clathrosphaerina, Pseudoclathrosphaerina, Clathrosporium, Spirosphaera, Pseudaegerita, and Beverwykella, but none of these include the unique combination of features observed in Dendroclathra (treelike branching conidial initial in combination with densely interwoven, irregularly fusing, and dark bluish-grey clathrate conidial filaments). Therefore, a new genus is proposed for this aeroaquatic fungus growing on temporarily submerged wood.
