We developed a conventional immunosensor for Treponema pallidum (TP) to combine quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) with the agglutination reaction of immunized latex beads, TP induced an immunoreaction due to treponemal antigen-immobilized latex particles. We succeeded in measuring the concentration of TP in the human serum within 10 min by QCM method. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
