In order to improve mechanical properties of poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC), different types of blends of PPC with some other polymers were prepared to achieve strong molecular interaction. The attempts included 1. preparation of hydrogen-bonding complexes between PPC and acrylic acid - methyl acrylate copolymers; 2. preparation of complexes of ionic PPC and polymers containing counterions; and 3. Preparation of interpenetrate networks by crosslinking PPC using an isocyanate and crosslinking some other polymers using a peroxide. Copyright (C) 2001 John Wiley Sons, Ltd.
