Many aspects of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) have been studied at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Bologna (MHD power generators, plasmadynamics in a Tokamak machine, superconducting magnetic separators, arc discharge in circuit breakers, meniscus shaping in casting machines).
