We measure the magnetic flux dependence of the supercurrent in diffusive Nb/n-InAs/Nb mesoscopic SNS Josephson junctions with junction length ranging from 220 to 720 nm. In the longer junctions, the modulation periodicity of the maximum supercurrent by magnetic flux is a quantum flux, Phi(0) = h/2e as usual. However, we find that the magnetic flux periodicity becomes twice or 2Phi(0) = h/e when the junction lengths are shorter than 400 urn. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
