The X-ray structure of the already published p-tert-butylcalix[6]-1,4-2,5- bis(crown-4) 1 is reported. Extraction of solid ammonium picrate in chloroform-d indicates the cation to be located outside of the calixcrown and forming a 1:2 (metal-ligand) complex.
