An exact solution to the problem of flow past an impulsively started infinite vertical plate with variable temperature and uniform mass diffusion is presented here. taking into account the homogeneous chemical reaction of first-order. The dimensionless governing equations are solved using Laplace-transform technique. The velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are shown on graphs. It is observed that the velocity and concentration increases during generative reaction and decreases in destructive reaction. (C) 2002 Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
