A new deposit of Lower Cretaceous amber, found in Charente-Maritime, SW France, has yielded an important entornofauna with numerous characteristic moist ground arthropods. We describe a new genus and species of mole cricket, Marchandia magnifica gen. et sp. nov., in an exceptional state of preservation. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
