A long ballistic supermirror guide for cold neutrons at ILL

Ask authors/readers for more resources

The first ballistic supermirror neutron guide was installed at the European neutron source of the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble. This guide delivers a cold neutron capture flux of phi(c) = 1.6 x 10(10) cm(-2) s(-1) over a cross-section of 6 x 20 cm(2) at a distance of 78 m to the source. Its main use will be in the field of neutron-particle physics. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
