Economic dispatch based on optimal lambda using radial basis function network

This paper presents a new efficient method for on-line economic dispatch, which is based on the RBF network that directly gives the optimal value of lambda for a given power demand. This optimal value is then used to compute the economic generations iteratively. Very few overall computations are involved in this approach. Test results of two sample systems with three and 13 generating units are given to illustrate the performance of the proposed method. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
