Water-distilled essential oil from aerial parts of Ruta chalepensis L. was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Eleven compounds representing 92.9% of the oil were identified. 2-Undecanone (52.5%) and 2-nonanone (24.1%) were the major constituents.
