A novel metal-organic framework [Zn(bpdc)(DMSO)].2 DNISO (1) (bpdc=4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylate) was prepared by slow vapor diffusion method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In the crystal structure of 1, the square grids [Zn(bpdc)(DMSO)] constructed with paddle-wheel [Zn-2(OOC)(4)] building units and bpdc linkers stack over each other in a ABAB fashion to generate one-dimensional microporous channel that guest DMSO molecules occupy.
