Nitrogen extrusion from pyrazoline-substituted porphyrins and chlorins using long wavelength visible light

Protoporphyrin reacts with diazomethane to give pyrazolines which at long wavelength ( similar to 630 nm) extrude nitrogen to give the corresponding cyclopropyl derivatives.
