Uniform CdS hollow spheres were synthesized via thiourea reacting with Cd2+ through self-template route. When these spheres adsorbed silver nitrate solution, they in situ transformed to sulfide and formed CdS/Ag2S composite materials. Both CdS and Ag2S photoluminescence emissions were observed simultaneously. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
