A detailed study of photoionization of the H-2 molecule is presented in the random phase approximation. The total photoionization cross section in the photon energy region from the ionization threshold up to 200 eV is in good agreement with experimental data. Partial cross sections for all non-negligible transitions are presented. The Cooper-like minimum in the 1 sigma(g) --> psigma(u) channel at about 80 eV photon energy is predicted. Molecular frame photoelectron angular distributions are presented for different kinds of light polarization, and compared with recent experiment, where available.
