We investigate effects of alloying Ag-Au clusters on optical absorptions and performances of solar cells. Against optical spectra of pure Ag and Au clusters, the optical spectrum of Ag-Au clusters redshifts and broadens. The alloying Ag-Au cluster modified TiO2 electrode improves short-circuit current density and maximum power conversion efficiencies of solar cell and keeps photocurrent stability of solar cell compared with that of pure Ag or Au cluster modified TiO2 electrodes. Alloying Ag-Au clusters can function as a new photosensitizers for solar cell. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
