The effect of the grain size (varying in the range of 1-47 mum) on the tensile and fatigue behaviour of the AISI 304 stainless steel is reported. Results show a strong improvement in both the tensile and fatigue resistance by grain refinement. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
