The effect of solidification velocity on pore size and porosity of lotus-type porous copper fabricated by unidirectional solidification in the pressurized hydrogen and argon has been investigated. The pore diameter and the pore number density are significantly affected by the solidification velocity, although the porosity is not varied much. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
