Sucrose is the most from renewable resources produced low molecular mass organic substance, and is widely used as a raw material in industrial processes. The biochemical transformation of sucrose into isomaltulose allows a certain degree of selectivity in particular reactions, starting from sucrose. The reductive amination of isomaltulose (IMU) with n-dodecylamin (DA) and hydrogen in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst is one of these reactions, which leads to a product mixture with excellent surfactant properties.
