The composition of the volatile oil from the radix of Scrophularia ningpoensis has been investigated by capillary GC, GC-MS. The oil contained 103 volatile components, of which 3.49% were terpenoids. The main constituents were fatty acids, such as palmitic acid (25.40%), linoleic acid (10.04%), alpha-linolenic acid (6.06%), gamma-linolenic acid (4.82%), cis-palmitoleic acid (3.94%), trans-oleic acid (3.52%), cis-oleic acid (2.67%) and transpalmitoleic acid (1.20%).
