[GRAPHICS] A convenient approach to a series of star-shaped pi-conjugated organic materials with oligofluorenes (OF) as the branches and a benzene ring as the core has been developed. The optical properties of these materials are liable to be tuned by introduction of more fluorene rings. The investigation of the structure-property relationship of these materials has indicated differences between star-shaped oligofluorenes and linear oligofluorenes, as well as polyfluorenes.
