The 3d-cubic Pm3n Ti-incorporated SBA-1 mesoporous molecular sieves were directly synthesized under strongly acidic conditions using CTEABr as the template and characterized by various techniques. X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that the synthesized mesoporous materials had a well-ordered cubic structure. N-2 adsorption/desorption measurements confirmed that the resultant samples had large mesopores (approximate to 20 Angstrom) and high surface areas (>1000 m(2) g(-1)). UV-visible (UV-vis) results revealed that incorporated titanium species existed in a highly dispersed state and had tetrahedral coordination. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was in correspondence with XRD results. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
