In this paper, the real stability radii for perturbed linear differential equations of the retarded and neutral type are investigated. We present the corresponding readily computable formulae with respect to an arbitrary stability region in the complex plane. The results are further extended to the case of linear discrete time-delay systems. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
