The Ullmann-type coupling reactions of aryl iodides and several nitrogen heterocycles occur at 80-90 degreesC with L-proline as additive, giving N-arylpyrroles, N-arylindoles, N-arylimidazoles, and N-pyrazoles in good to excellent yields.
