Crystallisation of calcite has been induced at the air-water interface by added water-soluble acrylate-based copolymers. Two unusual calcite morphologies are reported, one c-axis needles the other spherical particles. Both appear to comprise submicron crystallites. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
