Well-dispersed alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles with a closed cage structure were synthesized by a low-temperature hydrothermal method. The final products were investigated by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectrum, transmission electron microscopy and field emission scanning electron mircroscopy. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
