This paper presents closed distributional solutions of bending problems for continuous thin-faced sandwich panels modeled by appropriate beams. Sandwich elements with any number and spacing of elastic supports, subjected to a uniform transverse segmental load or a temperature difference load, were analyzed. Calculations based on the proposed solution made it possible to show what effects the intermediate supports and their compliance have on the effort of the continuous sandwich panels and their connections to the framing. Examples are provided in which generalized formulas for intermediate support reactions and bending moments in two- and three-span beams subjected to a uniform transverse load or a temperature difference load along the beam's whole length or part of its length are derived. The relationships between the above static quantities and the compliance of the intermediate supports or the extent of the segmental load are presented in the figures or the tables. Finally practical conclusions are drawn. (C) 2012 Politechnika Wroclawska. Published by Elsevier Urban & Partner Sp. z.o.o. All rights reserved.
