Nano-sized LaxBi(2-x)Te3 (x = 0.1-0.5) powders have been synthesized in ethanol solutions at 120-180 degreesC for 12-48 h. It is found that the LaxBi(2-x)Te3 compounds have the same crystal structure and similar lattice constants as the binary Bi2TC3 compound. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
