The crystallographic textures developed in a zinc-copper-titanium (ZnCuTi) alloy sheet during asymmetric rolling have been studied. The strain history undergone by the sheet has been calculated by an elasto-plastic flow line model. The so obtained successive strain increments have been used as input data to a Taylor model, to simulate the corresponding texture evolution in the sheet. It is shown that the shear strain is the dominant factor that governs the texture evolution during asymmetric rolling. (C) 2004 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
