Anisotropic properties of conducting polymers prepared by liquid crystal templating

Ask authors/readers for more resources

Anisotropic films of poly(3,4-ethyl-dioxythiophene) (PEDOT) have been prepared by polymerization in an aqueous, self-organized liquid crystalline template. The cylindrical, hydrophobic cores of the hexagonal template direct electropolymerization, producing films with anisotropic optical absorption and conductivity.
