Regio- and chemoselective transfer hydrogenation of quinolines catalyzed by a Cp*Ir complex

An efficient method for the transfer hydrogenation of quinolines catalyzed by a Cp*Ir complex was developed. A variety of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines were obtained by regio- and chemoselective transfer hydrogenation of quinolines using 2-propanol as a hydrogen source. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
